MVRemix: So tour plans all over the summer and then H.O.J. project is comin' up - Scudda's doing his acting thing. He was in "The Shield" right?
Phonte: Joekeem Hoodbine [chuckles]. Straight typecast urban white youth. Yeah, he did his thing on "The Shield."
MVRemix: But he's still workin' on the album right?
Phonte: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. He's still workin'.
Big Pooh: We workin' on his joint, Chaundon workin' on his joint. Darien Brockington workin' on his joint. I'm goin' back into the studio when we get back and I'ma go start workin' on my second joint. We'll probably start workin' on the next Little Brother album, probably some time in the Fall.
MVRemix: In the meantime, the next single, I think I read a post
that it's 90% sure it's gonna be "Slow It Down"?
Phonte: Yeah, that's what it looks like. It's like every song, every
time and every night everyone wants "I want a girl when I want a
girl,"... that's the line... people be like "that's so real"... even
females.
MVRemix: Is there gonna be a possibility where there's gonna be a video?
Phonte: Oh yeah, we gonna do that video. I don't know who's gonna direct it.
MVRemix: Should get the same dude that did the "Speed" video.
Phonte: I'm with that. That's what I'm with. On the straight DV Cam joint. Look like Americas Funniest Home Video.
MVRemix: Dho made the nice cameo, the intimidating Federal Agent.
Big Pooh: In the suit! [Pooh and Phonte chuckle] That's a big sexy cameo with the suit on, he got the curls right now too!
[interrupting each other]
Phonte: Hey, we go the limbs. Know what I'm sayin'? The three piece with the vest!
Big Pooh: Some ill skinned hard bottoms!
Phonte: That's what you need baby!
MVRemix: What's up with the Percy Miracles? Its got to be tough to work with him. You seen him lately?
Phonte: I seen him lately. Percy is going through some things, his "Minstrel Show" just took off too fast. You can't just take these dudes out of security and thrust him into the limelight so Percy re-lapsed man. He's back in his halfway house.
Big Pooh: He went on a 40 day 40 night drug binge.
Phonte: Just straight up. Druggin' and cokin' it up.
Big Pooh: Drankin' and druggin'.
Phonte: We told you about this drinkin' and druggin'. I seriously doubt that Percy gon' do an album. Thing about it is I was talkin' in an interview, thing about stuff like that is I do it for my own personal enjoyment. But once it comes out I know what it means. I know that I could be singing "Cheatin'" to a bunch of frat boys when I'm 40.
MVRemix: It's like when Dave Chappelle when he does a stand up somebody screams...
Phonte: "I'm Rick James!" Yeah, so it's like before I have my career reduced to a comedy act I'd kind of like to wait until I have no career. Whenever Little Brother wants we'll make the "fall off" album and whenever that happens, then you know the rent is due and I'll just go with Percy. But as long as me and Pooh goin' strong, I gotta keep doin' LB. I can't have Percy trumped. He can't pull the trump card out there.
MVRemix: Do you guys ever have any aspirations for side projects like acting or writing? I know Te, you write a lot of R&B stuff...
Phonte: Yeah, I'm writing something... Me and Darien just finished up a track for the Four Hero album. That came out real, real dope. So writing is something I'd definitely like to do as far as song writing. I may explore creative writing like...
MVRemix: Blogging... Phonte: [chuckling] A lot of people hit me up like, "Yo fam, you need to do a book." It's something I'll do. I plan to expand my horizons, definitely using Hip Hop. I don't really want a clothing line, I ain't tryin' to come up with a drink or nothin'. I'll do somethin' else. Do somethin' that kinda ain't been done.
Big Pooh: We got a couple things in the works over here that we workin' that are the Big Dho sex-tape!

MVRemix: What was that joint where you came on and you did 50 [Cent] at the end? Just the ad-lib?
Phonte: Ah man, I did that on a couple joints. [mumbles imitating 50] Know what I'm sayin', know what I'm sayin'? You gon' pop off?!? That was from "Get Rich or Die Trying," when it first came out that was all we listened to. It was like "Whatchu gonna do today?" "I don't know, what I'ma pop off nigga, know what I'm sayin'?" That was for a good couple of weeks, that was it. So that was all we did.
