If you haven't heard of All City by now then you're not really following today's underground scene. These emcees aren't that unknown, but are far from the mainstream audiences hip-hop receives. However, this album makes you feel that that's what the group is aiming for.
All City are probably most well known for their affiliation with Onyx, and most recently, for their affiliation with DJ Premier (who produces some of the albums material).
'Metropolis Gold' is one of those releases in which you have about half of the CD covered with okay cuts, a couple of bad ones and a few brilliant ones. The pre-released singles comprise the albums 'brilliant ones,' the only other noteworthy track is 'Metro Theme.' Other than that the album is really only defined by one word - average.
