For a while I've been hyped about this EP, I enjoyed 'Macosa' and various Outsidaz related tracks, then picked up the 12" 'Don't Look Now'/'The Rah Rah' which I was relatively impressed with, I didn't think of it as excellent.
When I got the EP, I played it from beginning to end, and truthfully, nothing stood out much apart from Eminem and Rah Digga's verses (which only stood out for me as they were immediately very recognizable, not because they're the EP's best features). The majority of the production is done by Ski, and, is pretty good, he provides a selection of nice beats. And the rhymes throughout the EP are on the whole pretty good, however, they're not particularly outstanding. The guest appearances of Eminem, Rah Digga and Pace Won (- I can't see why these are guest appearances, as I thought they were part of the crew) aren't bad, but they're by no means what I'd have hoped for.
The better tracks (in my opinion) are the title track; 'Nightlife' and 'Don't Look Now.' 'Nightlife' has a pretty dope beat, which grew on me considerably over time, and features some nice rhymes. 'Don't Look Now' has some of the Outsidaz rhyming enthusiastically over a relatively hyped up beat which is enjoyable to listen to.
Basically, the Outsidaz EP doesn't live up to my expectations, however, it isn't too bad. It's above average, but we have seen better from a lot of the groups members.
