With their new album "Blood Money" on the way, Mobb Deep has teamed up with
Whoo Kid and newcomers 40 Glocc and Nyce for a less than spectacular
mixtape.
"Best in the Bizness" starts off strong with the cut "Murda Murda,"
featuring Prodigy, Tony Yayo, and 40 Glocc. Prodigy carries the majority of
the mixtape as Havoc is only heard on a few songs, most notably "I Smack a
Ho" and "The Infamous." Hopefully, Hollywood Hav is saving his verses for
the album.
Wherever Mobb Deep found new artists 40 Glocc and Nyce they should have left
them. It would have been better to hear Big Noyd and the Alchemist on the
mic instead of these two tough talking newcomers. Especially when Nyce
spits corny lines like, "I'll shoot you in your stomach, make you move
bowels" and "Run up on you, spray ya shirt like cologne," on the song "Die
Already," while 40 Glocc tries to out do him spitting trash like, "I'm like
Home Depot, full of hardware" and "You niggaz couldn't shine if you was
Puffy punk," on the song "U ain't No G."
Sadly, the highlight of the Mixtape doesn't come from Mobb Deep, instead the
two songs dissing The Game, "Mr. Potato Head" by Young Buck and 50 Cent's
"I'm Not Rich Still Lying," are the tapes highlights and provide much needed
humor amongst the murder music of Mobb Deep.
The Mobb Deep and G-Unit connection hasn't produced any blockbuster hits or
major buzz in the streets yet, and the current single "Put 'Em In There
Place" doesn't come close to previous Mobb hits. Hopefully the lacklustre
"Best in the Bizness" isn't an indication of how good the album will be.
