The Family Files Vol. 2 is a compilation mix album by Shaman Work Recordings. The short but sweat album features a variety of artists from their label and extended fam, including MF Doom, Wale Oyejide, Emanon and Stacy Epps. While the compilation succeeds in delivering head nodding music, with most tracks clocking in under two minutes, it is unfortunately a wasted attempt. For Wale Oyejide (Science Fiction) fans, the remix to "There's A War Going On," featuring the Shaman All-Stars and "This Is Dedicated To," featuring MF Doom, are hidden gems that shouldn't be missed. But beyond that, the album offers little more than short cuts that will only frustrate you.
