You know who he is, and if you don't, then you simply don't know. Pharrell Williams is ranked high when it comes to the new breed of super producer/ MC. He has proven himself in the past by producing numerous hits for artists like Jay-Z, Britney Spears, Nas, Diddy, Snoop Dogg and many others and is currently working on the soundtrack for the new Voltron movie as well as finished the hot new track, "Mr. Me Too" for the upcoming Clipse album.

Mr. Williams AKA Skateboard P, from Billionaire Boys Club and Star Trak fame now introduces you to his solo project entitled "In My Mind."

If Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder worked on an album together, In My Mind is kind of what it would sound like. For the most part the album has a slow tempo soul feel as well as an upbeat feeling similar to the King of Pop's earlier work. There are still a few songs on the album which are trademark Pharrell sounding, and are actually the best songs on the album.

He's a producer, clothing designer, and an MC. Pharrell can do it all, but on this album he didn't do enough. This was a long time coming, and doesn't live up to what was expected. Not to take away form his shine, but overall Pharrell missed that certain, 'je ne sais quoi' on the album.

I know what you're thinking, "15 Tracks of Pharrell, how could this not be one of the hottest cd's this summer!?" I dont know why. Check it out for yourself and you will surely agree. It isnt terrible, but it isnt great, However the album does have (as expected) A-list guests such as Gwen Stefani, Slim Thug, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z, Nelly and Kanye West.

Heads up to Pharrell and his peoples for the clever marketing scheme with the different covers, but the album won't be on many people's top 5 of the year, especially with summer albums like Cam'Ron, Busta Rhymes & T.I. coming out.

An impressive album by "Skateboard P" but definitely not his best.
